Opening on the first day of Amsterdam Fashion Week, A Space For Time marks the debut exhibition of Amsterdam-based platform Arcatype. Hosted at The Gent on the Herengracht from 1 to 20 September, the public exhibition brings together emerging and established creators across fashion, interiors and lifestyle, inviting visitors to experience thoughtful design up close and reflect on how we choose to spend our time.

Every participant has been selected according to three guiding principles: Craft, Character and Care. As the founders explain, they look for designers who think beyond the next trend, creating work defined by quality, a distinctive point of view and genuine consideration for people and planet.

More than an exhibition, A Space For Time asks visitors to reconsider what they value. “We don’t need more products; we need an elevation of products,” the founders say. “We hope visitors leave thinking differently about value—not in terms of quantity or speed, but in terms of craftsmanship, longevity and intention.” Alongside the objects on display, the exhibition also poses a broader question: where do we choose to invest our attention, and what kind of culture do we want to support?
